The band had 5 founding members: Jonathan Davis - The [frontman], singer and bagpiper. An American Scot whose heritage has led to use of bagpipes in the music and wearing of a kilt. Fieldy - An unfortunately poor bass player. Munky - A quite impressive lead guitarist. Head - The rhythm guitarist. He has now, to the dismay of fans, left the band to use his music to propagate Christianity. (If you ask me, Christianity is doing just fine, but to each his own.) David Silveria - The drummer, and a very talented one at that. When he auditioned to Head, Munky and Fieldy, he was mocked because he was so young; his skill impressed them to the extent that he was immediately accepted. Korn have [sold out] more than once, and the result has been some [godawful] albums. They have, in the past, realised the error in their ways and returned to their roots.

Korn currently consist of 4 members now that rhythm guitarist Head has departed the band; Jonathan Davis, a great frontman and talented vocalist, Munky, a rather average guitarist (along with Head), Fieldy, a pretty slick bassist who greatly defines the band's sound, and Dave Silveria, an underrated and highly talented drummer. KoRn is known for their heavy sound, low-tuned guitars and dark themes and humour. KoRn has many devoted fans around the world who love them for the music, not because of some poseur teen-angst image complex. It is because of these poseurs that many people hate KoRn, basing their opinion on the fact that many people who like the band shop at Hot Topic and suck at life, so the band must suck too. In reality, KoRn are respected by musicians as innovators, and famous because their sound simply kicks ass. KoRn acknowledges the fact that their recent albums have been sub-par due to [wiggerism] and promises to return to their roots in their next album. Hey, at least they admit it and learn from it, unlike some bands who use the phrase "people don't like it just because it's different" as an excuse for their crapiness. In conclusion, you don't have to like KoRn... just don't hate on them for stupid reasons. A lot of people think "real" metal bands like Iron Maiden and Lamb of God suck too, so keep that in mind when you bash them.

KoRn may not be the most technical band out there, but they are original and talented.

A band out of Bakersfield that created Nu-Metal. Line up: John Davis - lead vocalist and bagpipe player. He can scream, sing, and he occasioanally does scat singing, too. His vocal styles vary quite a bit on each album. Fieldy - Contrary to the post by Switch (dumbass).. a pretty awesome bass player. Capable of slapping, double slapping, double popping, and standard finger plucking. Munky - The RHYTHYM guitarist for KoRn. Munky does NOT play lead, as some tards may think.. just watch any live video. It is pretty easy to distinguish what he is playing compared to Head on the recordings. Munky plays all of the droning chords (sometimes accompanied by Head), and most (if not all)of the parts that use a wah pedal. He also created the Ibanez K7 with Head. Head - The lead guitarist of the band.. or at least he used to be. He left because he was so strung out on drugs that he turned to christianity. Plays all of higher-pitched guitar parts choruses (ie: Here to Stay, Trash, Hey Daddy, Got the Life, etc.), and generally uses less guitar effects than Munky during the verse part of the song. David Silveria - Drummer for KoRn. Started playing with Fieldy, Head, and Munky when he was only 13; having to get permission from his mom. Uses Tama drums and hi-hat along with Paiste cymbals. KoRn is respected by many rappers and rockers alike. They were also the second white group ever to play at the Apollo in Harlem; preceeded by Buddy Holly in the late 1950's.. quite an accomplishment. Every single ablum they have ever released has gone platinum at least once.

KoRn is the father band of the nu-metal movement.

I love KoRn. No, I am not some 12 year old kid with an attitude problem, No, I do not like Slipknot. KoRn is a band, whether or not you think they are metal, is your opinion, but like it or not, they are huge, and sell out concerts all over the world. The common misconception is that KoRn is pussy metal, or whatever the fuck you want to call it. These statements are made by ignorant people who have a) never listened to them - and - b) followed the crowd with the rest of their "true-metal" friends. My question to them is, what is "True Metal"? Metallica, Slayer? I listen to all of that, and if "True-metal" is heavy stuff like that, then black sabbath and led zeppelin arent true metal...and they are the reason metal is alive today... A great, original rock band that is often bashed by "Tru-metal" heads just because they are often called [nu-metal] and the founders of that genre. In reality, they are more of an experimental hard rock/alternative metal band. A lot of bands soon started to imitate KoRn's sound and KoRn along with these bands were called nu-metal and, as a result, "tru-metal" heads bashed KoRn. Also, people say KoRn is what angsty, white, wannabe-goth, suburban teens listen to, but KoRn is one of my favorite bands and I happen to be a city kid and I don't consider myself to be a goth, nor do I try to be one.

Tru-metalhead: Hey, you like KoRn? Damn, I can't stand that nu-metal shit\! You must be one of those stupid fucking mindless wannabe non-conformist mall-core kids that from the suburbs\! Me: First off, KoRn isn't nu-metal, and even if they are, they're more original than those other nu-metal bands and they're still be a great band in my eyes, so fuck off\! In fact, I don't care what genre they are. Second, I'm not a fucking mall-core kid and I live in the city, so go fuck yourself twice\! Third, who gave you the right to categorize me as a person? Tru-metalhead: Uh... you're a fucking mallcore kid. And KoRn isn't metal (cliche.) And KoRn is mainstream, too, so you're a conformist. KoRn is a band that pioneered the Nu-Metal genre. This of course means that it spawned a bunch of other shitty bands that are even worse than it, although that's pretty hard to imagine. KoRn's fan base consists of whining bitches who think their life is horrible, when in reality, there is nothing wrong. The KoRn fan base will also argue that the band is hated among metal heads do to it's different sound. In reality, different is a poor word to use, more like shitty. KoRn has ruined the Metal genre and spawned countless posers who are just in it for the money (Just like KoRn is).

Pioneers of the "Nu-Metal" genre (ex. Limp Bizkit, Linkin Park, Slipknot, Mudvayne). Normally shunned by most older metalheads because of their different sound. In my opinion a band who should have quit at it early. Self-titled was a listenable CD but didn't have anything special about it. The band consists of mediocre "musicians." Not as hardcore of a band as some live them up to be. Sepultura, Slayer, Marduk, Deicide, and Burzum are all much more brutal metal bands.
